About Me

I was taught massage by a blind masseur at the local YMCA in 1982. The Humanities Center School of Allied Health and Massage (now a "Cortiva School")  gave me the opportunity to attend massage therapy school fulltime in 1988. I received my Florida LMT licensure that same year.

In 1994, I founded The Alternative Conjunction Clinic and School of Massage Therapy which became the first Licensed Massage School in Central Pennsylvania approved by the Pa. Department of Education, The State Board of Private Licensed Schools and accredited by NACCAS, an accrediting agency out of Washington DC. The school was a Title IV funded school. After 12 years, I went back to private practice but still maintain my teaching credentials.

While I can create an Esalen-style massage for relaxation, my focus is on medical massage and massage for pain, headaches, stress, disease processes and surgical and post-surgical procedures. Dealing with edema, lymph fluid and scar tissue for less restriction and pain reduction is a specialty and I accept the challenge of helping clients find solutions that allow for resolution or maintenance of these conditions.

In 2001, I became a Certified Colon Hydrotherapist. I am a member of I-ACT (International Association for Colon Hydrotherapy) and hold a position as  a current provisional instructor. I attend the national convention almost every year to keep up to date on the most current health information and to network with other professionals in the alternative health field.

My continuing education is ongoing and I enjoy the learning process. One of my favorite classes was Kinesio Fascial Movement Taping using ROCKTAPE. I can tape any area for pain, posture, mobility, stability and scar release.

While I have been a medical massage therapist for many decades, I have completed the MASTERS CERTIFICATION for MEDICAL MASSAGE PRACTITIONER (MMP), as of May 2017.

My Pennsylvania License number is MSG000024 and my Florida License number is MA8902. Both active with no restrictions.

In October 2018, after attending a medical and preventative health symposium at Pharmanex Research and Development, I became a certified Scanner S3 Operator which allows me to test antioxidants in the skin.
